If you have suffered damage
Whatever the kind of damage, you should first contact your own insurance company to see if it will pay you compensation.
If your own insurance does not cover the damage, you can investigate whether the person who caused the damage has insurance that covers it.
If there is no insurance and the person who caused the damage does not want to compensate you for it, or if there is insurance and the insurance company does not want to pay for the damage, you can have your case examined by the district court.
It is important that you gather evidence properly and document the damage. Even if you have suffered damage, you cannot receive compensation if there is insufficient evidence.
The person who has suffered damage must prove that the person who caused it did so through negligence or deliberately. You must also prove that there is a clear link between the negligence and the damage and demonstrate the value of the damage.
